Love Athens
Meet at the TVCC parking lot at 6 every evening to find your serving groups!
In 2021 we reached out to the City of Athens with an idea of local area churches teaming with the city to show our community the love of Jesus. During this week the city gets our man power to help with projects and we get their resources. Together, during Love Athens, we work together to spruce up our community and show community members the love of Jesus by helping in the following areas:
Home Repairs: minor construction or handy man requests (patch sheetrock, patch a roof, change a door knob, change a faucet, change a light switch etc.), Wheel Chair Ramp: Build a custom ramp to fit the needs of the resident. Painting: small jobs like touching up paint on a house, a picnic area, porch, bedroom, trash cans in the community, benches etc. Street Trash Pick-up: We have trucks and trailers that takes us down streets to pick up trash along the road. Mowing: bring your mower and weed eater to clean up yards. Yard work: bring your gloves, sheers, rakes, chainsaws to clean up yards and haul off debris. Gardening: bring your gloves, hand shovels, rakes and help weed and plant flowers. Trucks & Trailers: We need trucks & trailers to help haul trash and debris from homes as well as taking our trash pick up teams around and trash back to the trash bin. Visitation: We take a care package to each community member we help, share the gospel and pray for them before we leave. Monitarily: If you can't get out in the heat, do the physical labor, or make it during the week of Love Athens you can donate money to be used on the different projects we have for Love Athens.
